So I dumped a overly heavy load and now the dump trailer "was" stuck in the upright position. I was able to loosen the two lower hydraulic lines and bleed out all of the oil and the cylinders came down. The trailer is a power up and power down unit.
As of right now it will still go up...but I have to drain all of the fluid to get it to go down. IT attempts and makes noise trying to go down...but sounds like something in the pump is possible binding. The two hydraulic rams wiggle and flex with each attempt. The rams will literally look like they are being pulled in towards each other when you try to lower the trailer. Nothing is bent seeing that when you release the lines on the bottom of the cylinder they slowly come down.
Would this be a valve in the pump? I am considering just buying a new pump (it's only 2 years old though) I am wondering what kind of damage, attempting to dump to heavy of a load will do. I would take a guess that the load was 25K pounds. I had to hand offload about a 1/4 of the load before it would dump it.
