Has anyone seen a smaller dump truck ...in the F 350-450-550 size, with a dump bed and a trap door with a gooseneck hitch below?

Yes, a friend of mine had one in the dump bed on his F450.

I would think there wouldn't be any room because of the hydraulics and the plate has to go on the frame.

Yes. There is a company, I don't remember the name, that makes a scissor type hoist that is configured so that in some applications there is room for the gooseneck hitch plate. IIRC, the hoist system is kind of backward so it takes up the normally vacant room that is forward of a conventional scissor hoist.

Thanks for the positive feedback, I will keep checking to see if I can find something.

Come to think of it, there is a guy I see around my area with a F450 flatbed dump, I saw him dumping tree debris one day and a few days later saw him pulling a gooseneck dump trailer. Next time I see ill stop and ask him about the truck.

Yes, the old work truck at the company I worked for has that setup. It is simple and the gooseneck ball does not effect hoist at all.

The flatbed was made by Jensen. http://www.jensen-products.com/beds.htm

I looked at a F350 a few years ago that had a flatbed dump with a gooseneck ball under the bed.
