first off I'll say that I'm in no way a pro at welding. I have a friend that is a real welder that is helping me w/ the build of this project. I talked to some fab shops and they wanted 5k to weld the project and all steel on top of that, i cant afford something like that. i have a lot of down time in the winter this year and decided to work on what i could.

    I started with a '91 Isuzu box truck with 298880 miles. it has the 3.9L diesel turbo. 16'l x 8w x 7t box.

the project is to put a dump flatbed in the side of the truck approx 7' the dumb bed is made out of 2x4x3/16 and the supports in the flat bed are 1 1/2 x 3 x 1/8
the wall closest to the cab is made out of 2x4x3/16 and 1 1/2 x 3 x 1/8
the wall in the middle is made out of 1 1/2 x 3 x 1/8
    the over head beam with the 8k warn winch is 2x4x3/16 and a 1 1/2 x3 x 1/4
it can be removed and installed on any truck 2'' hitch receiver

    the ramp is 8' x 7' and has a 1' "dove tail"
    the ramp is mad out of 1 1/4 x 1 1/4 tubing 1/8 wall and 1 1/2 x 1/4 flat bar
    3/4 razed expanded metal
it is operated by a mile marker 2.5... up and down each way about half min(may move it down half way to cut the time in half)

this is my first post on here. i'm quite bizy and may take a while to reply but i'll try my best! thx yall

Great idea. It would be cool if you had a roll up door on the side where the opening is for the dump. That way you can keep it weather tight.

Also you might think about making it so you can mowers up into the dump part. You may not need it now, but who knows when you'll need to load up 2 or 3 mowers.

the plan in the summer is to back up to the mid wall (it has a big window in it) and dump through. in the spring and fall clean-up i'll seal it off and use my 18hp billy goat loader to shred it and pack it up to the roof

right now i have a walker w/ the 42'' deck, i'll be parking it in the middle. so ill have 54 inches total left. 26 inches on each side(the walls are a inch thick on the box truck). if i have time today i'll load it up and take pics of it.

todays project is to weld the supports in the flat bed and attach the 14g steel sheeting!
