The water funnels from neighboring property under the gate. Then flows over her paver patio. I suggested metal edging but she wants something more natural. She suggested monkey grass but felt it would be to tall so I said dwarf mondo grass is like monkey grass but only 4" tall.

Just a thought - Why not fix the drainage issue first say, with some sort of french drain? Nor sure a ground cover will keep water off the patio.

One other thought about mondo grass - it spreads and will be into the lawn at some point.

Use something like this. It's natural stone and is easy to work with.

Here is what it turned out. Added metal edging to control drainage issue and prevent the spreading of the dwarf mondo grass into lawn. Moved all the pond pebble back to prevent it from spreading that direction too. Once the mondo spreads to fill the dirt area it should hang over the metal edging giving it a natural barrier look.

    Thanks for all the input
Also added New polymeric sand to pavers.
