That is my goal this winter. I am looking into fault locators. the Dynatel, & the Pulsar are at the top of the list.

Just have to do my homework & get the boss to approve a PO....

Really wish I had the capital, I'd buy it and force the boss to buy it once it proved its worth!!!

It still amazes me as to how many Irrigators have no clue as to
what an A-Frame and Pulsar are!!

Granted- We dont use ours often & It does alot of sitting at the shop.

Come on man everyone knows this, an A frame is simply a skeletal structure constructed in the shape of a capital A popularized in European ski areas and in northern New England ski lodges.

A pulsar is short hand for pulsating radio star also known as a dead neutron star characterized by its enormity of it's spin close to the speed of light useally only detectable by the reception of their regular pulsing radio transmissions by parabolic radio telescopes on earth or high orbital satellites or specialized directional parabolic deep space probes.

I use a 521 for locating lines and valves, used this for fault finding when I was doing work at a golf course which I don't mess with much anymore.
So, this would not be the right locator for everyday residential wire tracing and valve locating? Looks like something utility companies would use to trace miles of wire or galvanized pipe.

I mean, this is not overkill for tracing short runs of wire to timers/finding valves in small residential yards?

Thats all I would really use a locator for if I buy one.

It's not a valve locator, it locates faults and 60 active power.

It's still worth having for that price. The A-frame alone is worth $100.

Lot of guys leave their pulser a gfl 3000 at home and locate faults with their locators. The A frame is lots quicker.

Might have to think about it. It looks cool. Do not do much fault finding or cable locating though. Just want to find a few valves and wires here and there. Thinking something like an Armada Pro-300 would be better for my application.

General Patton once shouted at General Eisenhower during a argument about equipment allocation, Their is something to be said about being well equipped and their is certainly nothing wrong with overkill.

I hope my post wasn't misleading, pipes and cables (wire) can still be traced.

I have a pro 300. Works good but isn't a fault finder or a long distance wire and valve locator, its great close in though.
