as an owner of 2 echo 755's which are close to the 770 but not quite there, the 580/redmax 8500 is about what you said, 20% more powerful.

 

I've ran them both, and there's no comparison. The 770 is just about exactly what the BR600 is as far as actual blowing power, both on the spec sheets and on real debris. Both are great blowers too. We ran them side by side when looking for a new BP. The RM/Husky 7500/570 and 8500/580 are in a league of their own. Both are a lot more blower than anything else out there.

The 770 is a great blower, but supposedly Echo has a blower coming out this fall that beats the 8500 by a bit. Waiting to see it.......

My echo dealer says he doesn't think it will happen this year. Thinks it would of been out already if they were going to do it. But who knows for sure???

I am actually leaning towards getting another echo 770. Just love the tubes/pipes so much better. Plus the 770 seems it will be more comfortable and have more year round use. Cooling fan on the echo is nice also.

Also have a small Echo dealer literally down the street from me. Also my scag dealer 20 minutes from me sells echo.

But I have to admit that video is leaning back more towards the middle of the fence. Very very impressive power. Was reading other threads here after I posted about how thin and flimsy the tubes are with the 580. That really bothers me probably the most about the husqvarna

 

U have the 570, and the tubes are not thinn no flimsy. They may not be hard as rock like the Stihl tubes are (I've owned several Stihl BP's including the 600), but they are not cheap at all on the Husky/RM BP's. The Husky has a cooling fan for your back as well. it lets the air out behind the padding so it doesn't blow directly on you like the Echo, which is nice for fall leaves when you are running a BP for long periods of time like I do (multiple hours at a time).

The shoulder harness on the Husky BP's is the best one out by a wide margin too. far better than anything else, including the Echo. Don't let the thinner padding on the Husky fool you. The wide shoulder straps and cross chest strap along with the waste belt on the 580 or the waste 'ears" on the 570 distribute the weight far better than any other blower, and lock it into place on your back at the same time. The entire harness is designed off of top of the line back packs for hiking and/or hunting in the mountains.

I've been running mine since they first came out in late Oct/early Nov of 2011.

Thanks Ridin Green for all the great info. Thinking I will either go with the 580 or wait till next year for the new echo. There is just 2 of us and I have a 770 and two 500's. Almost prefer the 500s for blowing out beds with mulch. Also have a walk behind bower. But there is still a good amount of situations I would like to have 2 big backpack blowers for.
