Just Purchased an Echo PB-610 used for <$100.00. Very impressed with the quality and performance. I accidentally started it up without the tubes in place, set it down and it circled quickly around its axis, like a dog chasing its tail. That won't happen again.
My Solo 471 KAT is nicer, cleaner, quieter and maybe just as powerful.
Everyone should have two backpacks, because, you never know.
I live on a rugged 1/2 acre (little more), and a handheld does not quite cut it for heavy oak leaves, sticks, debris, etc.
Of course my trusty Tanaka handheld will always be a mainstay. Let the girlfriend use it.

Power Equipment. There is no substitute.
