I need to purchase an edger some time real soon because I have been having a lot of request for edging. I went to the Echo/Toro dealer today and they have a nice looking stick edger for $200. I also seen at a local farm store they have a Troy-Bilt Edger/cultivator for $289. What about a John Deere or Husqvarna stick edger? What is my best bet? I will not be using it as heavily as most of you guys.

The shindaiwa LE 260 is a great unit - try EBAY they're always on there and going very cheap. GOOD luck - it's a good unit and has lots of power.

go to Home Depot and look for the reconditioned equipment. I purchased an Echo for $100 that has a two year warranty for half price. Got a straight shaft trimmer the next week for the same.

I have the Echo Trimmer and Edger I purchased from Home Depot. They are three years old and working fine. I should also add I only have 17 customers, so they don't get the full work out of full time use.
