I was hoping to get the opinion of people on the major differences between the Echo PB603 and PB650 blowers. I looked at both this week and was most impressed with the power of the PB650. Yet, it was much heavier, had very stiff tubes and a hip mounted throttle. The PB603 was lighter and had much more flexible tubes along with a tube mounted throttle. Is the difference in power between the two substantial enought to warrant the extra price difference? Either unit will replace a BR400 Stihl that I have been using. I am leaning toward the 603 but is it that much better than the Stihl unit? If it isn't then the 650 will be the way to go.

If you have the extra cash, buy the PB 650. The PB 603 is a nice unit, but the PB 650 is the best back pack unit on the market right now. It is a bit heavy, but you will get used to it. The Shin's and RedMax are excellent units also, but in IMHO the Echo PB 650 kicks butt and is "the leader of the packs"....

When I bought my PB603, the PB650 wasn't available. I've had it(PB603) now for about 6 months and have been very pleased with it so far. I don't know what the price difference is between the two models. I think I paid$399.95 for myPB603.
