I have an echo string trimmer that I recently changed the rubber priming thing, air arrestor, gas line & fuel filter.

When I attempt to prime it nothing is happening. When I take off both of the fuel lines and press the priming thing in I can hear the air being pushed out of the return line but no suction from the one that pulls the gas into the engine.

Since no gas reaches the engine it's not running.

Any ideas on how to make this work?

Model numbers?

If you haven't rebuilt the carburetor, make sure you haven't reversed the fuel inlet line and the return line. You can tell if you have by moving the fuel filter over to the cap opening and then pushing the primer bulb. If you have bubbles arising from the fuel filter, reverse the lines and you should be good to go. By air arrestor, are you referring to the tank vent? I've been in the repair business for 20 years and have never heard of the arrestor.

Now, if you have rebuilt the carb, all bets are off.
