    Hey Yall -
One of my echo trimmers can only be started with full choke and then runs with a little less than full choke. It will run for a minute or so, with the troddle all the way on and then it will surge to full power and die. Any help would be appriciated.

    Thanks Chris :)

it sounds like you need to get a carb kit and air filter, you have a pretty common problem

Has similar problems with a couple of mine. The solution was to rebuid the carb. Diaphram kits mostly.

I had a similar problem with 2 echo srm-210. Would run as long as the u held the throttle down and messed with the choke. Let off and it would die every time. The Problem was in the top of the carburetor a very small plastic looking washer inside would crack or brake. Replace with a new metal one and they ran like new.Costs less than $2
