Maybe in a year or two we'll start seeing ZTRs with solar panels, powerful enough to cut thick grass all day when it's sunny. Or a battery that last long. This Ryobi trims 2 acres per charge - so eight 1/4 acre lots or about 14 smaller yards.

it probably won't cut thick stuff but it's cool for what it is and they just get stronger and better as technology progresses.

I just can't see the point in solar or battery operated equipment. But if enough people buys them gas will drop. Then my mowers will be cheaper to operate.

Good luck working on electric motors but as more people get them, there will be more videos and info.

DC electric is so much easier than gasoline or hydraulic systems.

Nope, industrial DC motors can be rebuilt, replacing worn parts.

Way too much is being made out of this green industry BS. It all requires fossil fuels and ugly ass solar panels to produce, they still make irritating noise, and are just plain boring. It's all a scam for manu's to sell the eager-to-part-with -their-money masses another piece of junk they really don't need just because it's different and new, and everyone loves new and different. It's the same old if you can convince them they're saving the planet, might as well screw them as much as you can mentality.

    Rant over.
