    Hey all,
Anyone ever see an enclosed trailer, with a dump insert mounted on the front near the tounge? I have this crazy idea that it might be something cool to look into? A self contained trailer that all you do is hook up to and BOOM at the end of the day you have your pick up truck back? Any thoughts? Will the tounge weight be too much? Any pictures of something similar?

To make that worth the $$$ and effort the trailer would have to be at least 22 foot long. and it would need to be on a gooseneck ... and if you could afford the customized work then you more than likely aren't driving the same truck home as you use at work. not to mention you could only dump to the side so you wouldnt be able to pull away from the dump site to empty the dump trailer which would be a real b*tch. I feel its something that would be way cooler to see someone else with rather than having to use myself

I agree. It would have to be a goose neck. So that way it won't squat the back of the vehicle.

I've actually seen a open trailer with a dump body on the front of it. Had a pick up system similar to garbage trucks where 2 arms extend out with a barrel to dump your debris in and lifts up into the dump body. It was a 20' trailer, 4-5' of it was the dump body so there was probably only 15' for equipment. I could see this setup working on a 22-24' trailer.

They make them...forget who but they're out there. There was a post on here about them at one point. I forget where the dump bed was...I think in the front and dumped to the side.

    P.S. - Here's an open one

This was pretty much what I was thinking of, and I love the hopper! There is nothing worse than having to dump my Walker Mower out into green barrels and then lifting those barrells into the back of my truck. For the amount of lawns I do I think it would be perfect. Than at the end of the night I have my truck back......no more dump insert in the back killing my fuel mileage.
The only thing I don't like about these on the enclosed trailer, is the gate opens to the side. You really have to hope you have that area to the side to unload.

My thought originally was, I have an enclosed trailer, I have an easy dump, I'm pretty good at fabrication, maybe I can make it happen, a nice little winter project! The more I look at the componenets I have the more I keep thinking. I would have to build an all new trailer frame, cut the tounge and axles off of my enclosed, mount it on the new frame and then put the dump insert on the front........my biggest concern was the tounge weight if I were to do this. I don't know, for the amount of lawns I do now, a trailer that is already set up would be such a time saver!

Darryl, where did you find the picture of the green open trailer with the dump bed on the back? I would love to give them a call and see how much that goes for!
