whats causing my engine to miss or lack of power when wet?
    its a 17hp vf540.

I have NOT been able to figure out what side its on.

its like its not getting "enough" spark ?

    bad coil? connection somewhere?

When that happens on my kawi's it means the coils are getting ready to go. Actually, I think the plug wire/boot is cracked and the moisture shorts it out. Let them set until they dry out and they run fine again.

Take a spray bottle filled with water and mist the water while the engine is running. You will figure it out right away as the mist will make the defective side miss. Then you determine exactly where the problem resides. You could have issues on both sides.

And if you're having problems on one side it's time to replace both. It would be silly to do only 1.

But yes, you're losing spark due to the moisture.
