Hi-

Is anyone using these new style units with the removable front wheels? I am looking at getting one of the pressure lubed kawasaki models. i am thinking about a bbc, but am not sure if I will spring for the extra weight on one. I want to take advantage of the $100 Exmark rebate. I guess I need some feedback on this unit as a bagger and as a mulcher. I am coming from a lawnboy DURAFORCE cast deck.

after the $100 rebate, I'll be at $900 at my local dealer for a pressure lubed model no bbc. I think for $200 the pressure lube is worth it. Its $700 after rebate for the Commercial AS or non pressure lube.

A machine like this will last MANY years. I think it is a better design than the old Toro based models.

It's looking like the AS models all have zone start (flywheel brake).

Yeah I think your correct on that. All the AS models are zone. I wish I could get a good kill switch to mount somewhere. Then I wouldnt need a BBC. Shoot I might not need one anyway. This mower migh be high quality materials and build wise. But that doesnt mean it mulches or bags worth a darn.

I'm thinking that it probably bags quite well considering it's a Toro Hi-Vac deck in sheep's clothing.

I would have to agree, and I have a feeling Exmark didnt just suddenly decide to start building crap. I bet this mower is as good as the rest of their stuff. I just dont want to be the first one to sell my lawnboy and buy a 1k 120lb paper weight.

another safe bet for the same price would be the Toro 222156. Honda, looks like the old Lawnboy 22271 but with a better engine. Infact it looks to be forced lubrication, like the Exmark.

You mean they did not decide to suddenly STOP building crap. I guess you have not researched the Exmark 26.

I still have not pulled the trigger yet. I dont know wether or not I want a BBC. I am leaning toward no. I have plenty of time to decide, its only march!

It's underpowered. If you search under "Metro 26" you'll hear everybody saying that.
