I have a new 48" Metro that I use at my house. After about 12 hours the right wheel brake band began to squeal. It seems that the left hand band is under enough tension such that it pulls the brake rod down to where the wing nut stops it and the band is released.

However, the right band does not have enough tension and the brake rod is not pulled all the way down. The band then does not pull all the way out resulting in the squealling. I have lubricated the brake arm at the pivot point.

Is there any adjustment I can make to have this band release completely to stop this annoying squeal? Any other ideas?

    Thank you.

I'm curious to hear an answer because I'm having the same thing with my Bob-Cat WB. I actually had a customer come out once and offer to let me use his WD-40 to get rid of that annoying squeal.....told him it wouldn't work, but thanks anyways!

Try a little brake parts cleaner.

Our new Deere 757 Z-trak did the same thing. It was slightly out of adjustment, I even had about the same hours as you! I simply took it back to the dealer and they corrected it in 10 mins flat..........then out the door mowing. :cool2:

There is a fix for the eXmark brake squeal and it requires some parts to be replaced. Call your dealer.
