I have a Exmark Lazer Z 60" cut with 30 hp Kohler and was wondering if it is possible to purchase a new 72" deck and have my dealer remove the 60" deck and install the 72". I didn't know if it was possible and was hoping someone might know.

I would check with your dealer fist. Most likely, you would be able to swap decks with no problem.

I think a 72" Lazer is about 4" longer than a 60" Lazer. I am guessing that is because the extra lenth is needed for the longer 72" deck.

So I wouldn't be able to do it?

Not sure, but the Exmark website list the wider decks as being on longer frames so I'm leaning toward saying probably not. Call Exmark at 1-800-667-5296 and ask for a customer rep.

It probably also matters what kind of deck. Because I was looking at an Exmark with an Ultracut and another one with a Triton. The Triton of the same size was a lot wider/longer whatever you want to say. I'd say a good 4 inches or so bigger.

You cannot swap out decks without replacing a few things. The front half of the frame for a 72" deck is wider. The wheel motor spacers are also longer on a 72" to make the stance wider. So you would need the front half of the frame, wheel motor spacers, and a deck. It could be done but probably would not be worth the money. You would be better off to sell your mower and buy a 72".
