Just use a floor jack or bottle Jack
Posted via Mobile Device
Hi AJ
Floor jack doesn't reach high enough plus it is still a fall hazard. With this set up no need to drag the jack out. Very good idea in my eyes. I am now going to see about doing a mod on my exmark, so changing the blades will not be such a pain in the a**.

My buddy uses a lift and does it every week, with gator blades tho. Use wheel ramps then you'll be fine, like the ones that only like 2' off the ground, but I don't think the jacks for the mowers cost 300$

heres how I lift the mowers 10 years 4-6 mowers . 1-3 times per week

this works great I stand and scrap under the deck . If I need to pull a motor I use the lift . I even used to to replace the bed of one of the trucks this year . If anyone would like a pic let me know .

Sorry guys....sarcasism doesnt translate over posts. I do think this is a good idea. I was just remarking that ALL dealers charge alot of money for basic stuff. But for $150 I would consider it if I had an exmark. Shoot I bet if you buy a new mower they will throw it in for free.

Hi Guys
I was up at my local Exmark dealer today and saw this. Simple idea don't know why someone didn't think of this sooner.

Regards Mike
LOL, Someone has come up with this idea and it has been included for some time now. That someone is Toro. This jack does seem to do a better job of lifting the mower up though, but it has been a while since I have been involved in the lawn industry, so it could've changed.

I just looked at the Toro website and with the toro emblem this jack is the "Toro Z Stand". It looks identical to the one you showed, but I was referring to the earlier versions of the "Toro Z Stand", which looked more sturdy then these current models. I do remember that I never was satisfied with the lift they gave and would find myself just running one castor up on the trailer ramp and set the break (even though this isn't a safe practice, it worked and was quick).
Can't believe no one has mentioned it yet...

When I worked for one of the larger lawn care companies in the middle Tn area a few years back we used jungle jim jacks. This was a much easier and cost-effective way to change the blades on 30+ ztr's and 15+ walkbehinds. We would just run the jack to the lip of the deck and lift down. It was easy and didn't take 5 min., even if you are very slow. I'm going to attempt at attaching a picture but doubt it will work so I'll also include a link.

One of the best features of a Walker is that the deck flips up for easy, safe blade changes.

Hey, I know this post is getting old but.... I've been using the bulldog jack with a crude adapter on the front of my Lazer. A couple of days ago I found this online : http://www.ottopaap.com/pages/custo...52/4108/29716/1/0/1/exmark-top-wind-jack.aspx

I ordered one adapter and the jack to qualify for the free shipping. Total of $138 shipped. It would be a few dollars cheaper overall to get the jack through Harbor Freight and pay both shipping charges, but I wanted to support any dealer willing to carry this. I'll get you and update when it gets here, but the new paint is going to stick out like a sore thumb on my weathered Exmark, so you probably won't get a picture.

The package arrived yesterday. Got the jack mount installed today. It's a five minute job, including getting the tools out. Just like in the pictures posted by lotsagrass. All hardware (two bolts, lock nuts, large pin with spring ball and the mount) included. Works great. Tilts my Lazer Z to the max, rear frame bottoms out. Plenty of room underneath for whatever you need to do. Only way to lift it higher would involve raising the rear wheels. If you weld (or already have) a round pin mount on your trailer, the jack can be used for both and stored on the trailer tongue. If I'm in a hurry, I'll still use the trailer ramps, but the jack gives you a lot more room and you don't have to chase down the trailer. With the jack you can pick a nice spot to work under the mower instead of working on the edge of the road and hoping everyone can see the safety cones and go around you. I can also lift the rear of the mower up with the jack and a converted trailer hitch mounted in a Class II receiver on the rear mower frame. This kit is well planned and engineered. It does exactly as I need and hoped it would.

I bought the exmark jack/adapter combo from the dealer for around $150 if I remember right (last fall). For that price, it's worth it to me to have something certified by the manufacturer, the adapter built by the manufacturer (exmark) and very convenient. Nowhere near $300.

I am a tinkerer as much as the next guy, but buying peace-of-mind is not a bad idea. Certified by the manufacturer is a good thing when your arms are under 1000lb of machinery. Now if they would only bring one out for the Toro Grandstand I would be the first to buy it!

Do you think that the jack would work on a toro zmaster?

Hi guys,
I too was interested in a jack for my new radius E series. After a bunch of research I found one on Amazon for 40 bucks free shipping no , fit perfect.
It came with a side crank which was closed but did clear the front wheel. I cut the crank off welded a bolt to it slowly keeping it cool. Now I can use my Craftsman portable drill and only takes seconds to go up and down.
Here is a link to Amazon.
