ExMark Phazer Belt Problem

LawnSite Member

I bought my ExMark Phazer back in March and I had to put it in the shop this week. The deck belt came off several times and the mower started making a rattling noise while running. Eventually the pulley that is connected to the engine and drives the deck came off with the belt and just fell on the ground. I remounted it, but the bolt will not fully tighten like it is stripped. It still rattles. I worked on it for a couple of hours, but had to give it up and just take it to my dealer. Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem or has any suggestions.

From your explanation, I'm guessing that you're talking about the clutch? Sounds as though we may have not gotten the clutch properly torqued here at the factory.

The clutch bolt should tightly secure the clutch on the crankshaft. If not, we may have lost the spacer or have some other issue. If you have it in to the dealer, you've done the right thing...they'll take care of it for you.

I apologize that you have had a problem like this so soon.
