    Dang Guys,

CAnt get waht I want with the exmark, so was thinking about going with the 60" ultra cut with the 27 HP Kohler. My dealer wants 8,000 for it.

Got the Western auto in the next town to go 7,500.00 But I still have a hard time turning loose of that much money....

    Just wanted to share

I would be very leary of the 27 hp Kohler. Had 15hrs on mine when the lifters and pushrods were replaced due to smoking. At 30 hrs the pistons were replaced due to smoking. Exmark rep came down and took my engine apart, couldn't find the cause, then offered a short block replacement. I said no, I want a new engine. Thay agreed and sent a new one. Now, the new engine has 4.5 hours on it and smoking like hell. I have asked the dealer to get with Exmark and replace the mower. This is a 50" HP so I'm going to go with the 23 Kawi. Just my .02

Yeah I hear you man. The cost of steel keeps going up plus the cost of fuel so they had to raise the prices on the mowers.

That's not much money for a Lazer. The Kohlers including the 27 are proven engines, of course you can get a lemon in any brand. Scagguy seem to have had some bad luck but this is an exception. Quit being so tight and buy one. Get it from he dealer that you can count on when you need service even if he's a little higher. I paid $8,000 for my 05 Lazer and its been worth every penny. :)

I priced out a Exmark Lazer 23hp (Kawi) 52" the other day a my local dealer $6,400 out the door with a full 5 yr warranty. I've looked over the LS and read all the threads on "which mower" and so far it looks like going with any HP Kawi motor is your best bet. I know theres a few out there that will say they've had no problems with their Kohler but look like the Kawi has better marks.

The prices are going up but atleast at my dealer the prices are staying pretty level.
