According to the Washington Post, eXmark is recalling 1,200 Lazer Z EFI units due to fuel line leaks. The brief did not list the model year, but noted that dealers will provide replacements.

eXmark's home page does not note the recall (it is now 8:12 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 7) . The site for the Consumer Product Safety Commission states that the affected models are LZ28KC604 (serial numbers 440000-500539) and the LZ28KC724 (serial numbers 440000-500612). See the notice at http://www.cpsc.gov/CPSCPUB/PREREL/prhtml05/05520.html

The article appears on page E2 of the Washington Post's Dec. 7, 2004 edition. Now Scag has company at the CPSC Hall of Ooops!

It is more effective to keep a recall quiet if you don't announce it. There isn't even a mention on Exmark's forum.

Going by the serial numbers on the scags it seems to be a kawasaki engine problem so i figure it will affect all the mowers that have a kawasaki engine

The lazers listed in this post use Kohler engines. The "KC" denotes a Kohler, a Kawasaki would be "KA".
