Will probably buy the exmark Lazer ZHP with 46" deck and 19HP Kaw. next month. The local dealer has them for 6000.00 plus tax. Would like comments from anyone that uses this mower. I will use it for residential 3 to 4 acres only. Looked at the Scags but they are a little too pricey. Thanks

Have you demoed this is thick turf? I have a 19hp on a 52". I'll not make that mistake again. You may wanna think about more motor.

I would go with a little bigger engine 23hp and maybe 48" to 52" deck either Toro or Exmark spend the extra money you will have it a long time and will be happier.

i have the 19 hp 46 inch and love it. but the guys that posted before me are right... spend the extra $ on a bigger engine. the 19 is smooth, quiet and has enough power to discharge but if you mulch it strains in the thicker stuff. i know that exmark is gonna start putting the 23 hp Kaw on the 46 inch cut... i'm actually thinking of buying just the 23 hp engine and selling my 19 hp because all i am able to do is mulch and there are times that i need the extra power. it's a good overall hp/deck width combo but just a tad underpowered for the thick stuff.

p.s. - i forgot to mention that i have the 2006 model. this is the model where they lowered the blade tip speed down to around 16,000 fpm. the new 2007 models have the blade tip speed back at around 18,500 which i havent tried yet. this will no doubt help out a bit in the thicker stuff..... just something to take into consideration.
