I would look at the Exmark 52 hp. the exmark is lower than the Scag. Another choice we have looked at is the Derby made by Ferris. 54" with 23 Kohler.

eXmark would be a good choice but I would prefer the Hustler. This is a heavy duty machine that will provide you with years of service. However, if your choices are eXmark or Tiger go with the eXmark.

I have the eXMark Lazer HP, 48", 21 Kaw. Top quality, commercial grade unit. I mow about 3.5 park-like acres and usually, at this time of year, have to blow, rake and haul off tons of leaves. Not this year!!! About 3 weeks ago I installed the mulcher kit for this mower. No more blowing, raking and hauling. Turns leaves to dust! Love the mower. Only wish I had gone for the 52" deck, but even with the 48" my mowing time has been cut by more than half.

Exmark quality and cut can't be beat. The factory support you will get from exmark is second to none. Do a search on both types. You will be surprised at what you might find.

Hustler will soon introduce a new unit called the FasTrakĀ™ that is made for just such a situation. 16, 18, or 20 hp Honda power. 44" or 52" side-discharge decks with mulch kits. Side-mount catcher. Welded-steel deck. Hydro-Gear IZT hydraulic drive packages. Its a home-owner unit built like a commercial mower. MSRP range is $4600.00 to $5400.00. Available in January, 2002.
