Extensions Needed For Green Touch Xtreme Trimmer Rack?

I have decided to go with a two-position Green Touch Extreme trimmer rack. I have a 5'x10' Carry-On trailer (treated wood deck, 18" expanded mesh sides, 3500lb. axle, 15" wheels). Because the trailer has the expanded mesh sides, the top rails are just a flat plate of steel instead of being a square or round design. I haven't ordered the trimmer rack yet because I'm not sure if I need the extensions that mount in the floor and then to the trimmer rack. Are these advisable, and if so, would you also recommend them for the Green Touch blower rack? I would rather not drill holes in the top rail of my trailer just to test them out to see if the trimmer rack has enough support if I don't need to! Thanks.

I don't like the Green Touch trimmer or blower racks because some people on here said that their trimmer shafts split in half while using them. The blower racks I don't like because for the Br600 Magnum and some other brands of blowers you have to cut them on the side to make them fit on the racks which I dislike...

What brand/model would you recommend for a trimmer and blower rack?

I have owned the extreme 3 place rack for 5 years now. Never any problems with 'splitting' trimmer shafts. And I don't even have the extra engine housing supports they now sell.

I run mine now in an enclosed and they are solid. When I had them on a 5x8, with a thin flat top steel side rail, they swayed too much for my liking. I would buy the extra support OR fabricate extra support on your own. You want the racks solid, for sure.

I have them on my open trailer and I put the engine supports on too. I just didn't wana take a chance snapping an engine off a 400 dollar trimmer. I got the blower racks too and they work great for my Echo's.
