2nd truck I"ve had to put ball joints in under 50000 miles, wonder if I'm pushin these pick up trucks to hard. Had a Dodge 2500 diesel needed ball joints under 50k, thought that was a Dodge thing now the Ford needs them under 40k, so I'm starting to think its time for a heavier duty truck. My towing needs have become heavier (5 ton mini x) and its been towing fine with srw f350 but now I may be at the cross roads of going heavier duty or lighter duty. There are upgrades for the f 350 but am I just throwing $ at a truck that'll just be too light duty for heavier duty needs? Time for F450, 550, or bigger single axle dump truck ? Probably got to ride the rest of this season out with the f350 but may go heavier duty for next year. I've been hooked on hd pick up trucks but maybe they just don't cut it anymore, any tips appreciated!

Hate to say it, but Furd is well known for ball joint issues.

    I replaced a set on my 550 at 19K.

The newer suspension from '05 up seems to be doing much better though, as I replaced one side on my 350 at 95K and my 550 has about 55K and still doing fine. Both have Blizzard plows all winter long.

Wow thats terrible. Should have got a Dodge Cummins combo. Less problems.
