I need to quote a couple paver jobs that will include facing the risers, treads and sides of poured in place concrete stoops with matching pavers. I have not done this before. Is construction adhesive (PL) fine, or do you prefer mortaring? Thanks.

Not the answer you're lookin for - but facing sides of steps and risers of steps with PAVERS is very tacky looking. Pavers are intended for horizontal work, not vertical. In my opinion facing sides and risers with pavers is amature. And yes, there was a time where we had done this. Never again.

    Yes, PL will work.

What if you were to get bullnose treads to match the pavers for the steps and face the sides with manufactured or thin sawn stone? That would look a lot better than pavers set vertically.
I prefer mortar, but PL will work.

Pavers are meant to be laid down not up...
