I will be moving to my new home in august, but probably wont have time until next spring to do it....but I would like to put up a cedar rail fence and a hedge. Im just wondering what is a good, cheap, thick, hedge that doesnt grow like crazy! I would like it grow 5ft so I dont really need to stand on a ladder to maintain it, but still high enough for a bit of privacy. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Deer like to eat arborvitae, but Spruce trees are not very tasty and you can prune them to the height you like... :)
