Family friend is dissappointed with the pricing on their current fert and grub program, and so he called us for a bid. We can do the bidding, but just would like some input as to how you treat zoysia. Would you do the same applications as bluegrass, and use the same amount? Thanks.

    Hey woody,
I would do a little different program on Zoysia , but it would be alright to start now if you want. Start with pre-emergent and weed control, come back in 30-45 days with some fert and w/c as needed, then early summer apply surface insect control with Mesa , etc. PM me or call me later I am in Independence, on the Missouri side.

Dont' use MESA.. You'll get better results with PolyVex from Lesco!!!

Here is a good link on Zoysia grass. They claim 3 lbs N per yer per 1000/sf. Since it is a warm season grass, it is totally different than bluegrass. Be careful or you might have problems.
