Treat it right and it will return the favor. Blades kept sharp will not just cut better will put less stress on the spindles and belts. Oil changes, check oil daily or twice daily. I'm sure you know. Just saying.

What's an ExMark card charge? Is it zero ? I've got no problem at all financing up to about 9 or even 10% I think. I've been getting 6% or better. With the write off of interest the cost of the money just isn't that much.

I'd say you could probably easily take that to 25 hours since it or at least should have an oil filter. Read the manual it'll tell you when that first one is due. Which probably will be at early hours compared to regular maintenance.
