fill in a hole help

    ok a customer has a hole in the ground which goes down the side of the house you can see all the way down the foundation. its like it just caved in. should i just fill in th area with dirt or what.please help its oneof best customers

    First determine the cause of the hole, it could be a broken waterline, a broken downspout drain , settlement etc. Just filling the hole could br masking a major problem

    I agree with the above. check it out first, if you don't know how to determine if something is drastically wrong ,find someone qualified to do so.

    Also, being so close to the foundation, they may need an expert to look at it. Its possible that the home could sustain structural damage if the foundation is not properly supported, and you don't want the credit for that!
