2 3/4 is about the shortest I go on two lawns. The rest are 3". 1 1/2 would scalp almost every lawn around here. Way too short for northern grass.

Everything here aerated and over seeded yearly, heavily irrigated and full fert/squirt. You cant kill it. Grows like gangbusters even cut as low as 1-1/4".

Push mowers get you much lower without scalping than what you likely cutting with

You not going to “kill” Northern turf by cutting 2” especially if it’s irrigated.

    Bingo!
I see a few guys that drop the deck around this time of year to "slick 'em up?" and make that cleanup a little easier.
But they lose that nice warm, fall green-which I really like.
I keep 'em green as long as possible, winter comes soon enough. lol

Didn't we go through this last year?

Then there was some BS about not wanting to stick a tape measure in a customer's lawn.

I'm push mowing and cutting between 2".50 - 2".75 it all depends on the lawn.

Lawns cut under 2" push mowed on weekly schedules all season . People here want putting greens and they pay big $$$ on aeration, irrigation etc to keep their short grass green all year.
