Well we finally bought a dump today. NO not a new one im not loaded like most of you fellas, its a 1980 ford f350 2 wheel drive with a 12foot dump on it, PTO driven. I bought it for 1000$$, it needs work though. The rear is bad needs complete replacement (hope that doesnt kill me) the linkage on the carb is froze from sitting so i gotta pull it and get it rebuilt anyway. It has a 351 cleveland and i cant wait to get workin on it, gonna be a nice winter project. Its a four speed and the intererior is ini real good shape, i'll post pics when i get them so you guys can see the transformation. =)

Sounds like a good deal! Good luck with the project! You know, a truck like that would push snow all over the countryside, if you wanted it to.

It is good to know that another fellow lawn man will not have to bust his back shoveling grass and junk out of a pick up! Hey wait a minute, I think I should envy you! :D

    Take care

Can't wait to see it... Have fun and good luck. I'm hoping to get a new truck next spring. Not sure if I'll go with a dump...

351 Cleveland, them are good engines. My grandpa told me about how good they were because he used to be a mechanic and worked on all sorts of trucks. My dad's '80 GMC diesel has a 392 in it, it'll get up and haul ass, uh, I mean grass!

I'm just glad that I don't have to deal with snow like you guys.

I'll be barefoot and wearing shorts at Christmas.................... :)

After some looooong hours working on it and a generous amount of money (ended up being worth it) The truck came out beutiful! It's still plowing and hauling all the time for a friend that I sold it to when I left for the service.

Here are the before and after picks. I'll give you something to shoot for! ;)
