A cord of wood is 4x4x8 or 128 sq ft.. Measure the highth of your sides x width x length.. I would guess 3/4 stacked thou...

I have firewood stacked on my property for sale. when i deliver i use a flatbed 16ft trailer and just chuck it on there in a pile. when i deliver it i offer stacking for 20$ for the first cord and 10$ for ever additional. or i just chuck it off where the customer want a pile. A friend of mine tried with a dump insert and it was to much weight so watch that factor.

assuming the wood is cut and split at 16-18 inches long and assuming you have 8 inch wood side boards on as most of the small dumps do, you should fit 2 1/2 face cord of firewood per 8 ft dump truck load. We also use a 6 x 10 dump trailer with 2 foot higher mesh side and that goes behind the dump truck with another 4 face cord.

We stack after we split to season the wood and its all separated into cords by size, that way we can just toss the wood into the dump cause we already know how much it is.

My sides on my dump insert are around 12 inches high. I put a face cord on it but that is not stacked.

Our log yard is full of long 64 foot long double piles of firewood stacked so it dries. When we get an order for firewood we mark off the amount of cords and then use the WA40 1 yard loader to come in from the end of the pile and load the wood into the truck and trailer. 7 cords of wood can be loaded in the truck and trailer in about 10 minutes without any hand work.

Our truck has a dump box, not dump insert. That must be the difference. It is 6 foot by 8 foot and does not have tapered sides.
