sent out 20 comm. letters yesterday, and already have an opportunity to bid.
here are the specs.
monthly maint. march to oct. 33 cuts
just wants the mow, blow, weedeat, and edge.
first off, it is in terrible shape, trash and debris all over the place, going to need to get cleaned up and dumped.
the area has slopes, but nothing that a good wb cant take care of.

1834 sq ft of mowing
194 lin ft of edging
800 lin ft of weedeating
hopefully this will take me and one other helper 2.5-3 hrs to do.

the cleanup should take around 2-3 hrs to accomplish the first time around.
he wants bids tommorow, and as i was leaving he was talking to another company to bid the job.

thank you ,
steve

Is it only 1,834 SQFT of mowing or is it 18,340 SQFT. ?

If 1834: Mow, trim, blow at $25-30/mow
If 18,340: mow, trim, blow at ~$60-65/mow

Does he want contract for all services and a set price or are you able to bill out hours of clean-up individually?

Even with a 21" you should be able to complete 18,000 sqft of mowing in less than 1hr. How are you coming up with 2.5 to 3 hrs?

nothing is flat, all up and down and lots of mowing obstacles, maybe you are right, it probaly should take a little over an hour and half to do the full service, there is a lot of blowing, it is a storage facility.

Yeah, I guess 18,00sqft with a 21" in less than an hour might be a stretch now that I think about it. It still would not take 2 though.

hahaha he is going to sign you to the contract and opt out of the clean-up. sounds like he's been doing this a while.

just kidding, a little. seriously though, i've bid for these guys before, who have their secretary call every number in the yellow pages or newspaper, and set the estimates up one after another. he is definitely going with the low-baller and will never pay for extras. hope that isn't you.
