Well I am certainly rusty from last year I did my first 4 estimates today for the new season. That will of course rub off very quickly I am 3 weeks behind where I was last year because of all the damm snow. My partner did his first estimate today as well so we signed up 3 new lawn accounts 2 new fert accounts and I have a lawn account and a shrub removal job pending. As I said I seemed rusty just could not bring myself to close on my first 2 the killer instinct will return, as I need a lot of work I think I gained 15-20 pounds this winter so vacations over. And with 4 more scheduled before 1pm tomorrow I should have plenty of practice very shortly.

Same problem gave a bid on landscaping and when I calculated the price up I looked and said "she won't go for this it is to much" All the years before I could have sold her in two minutes and left with the job. Now it is pending. COME BACK lol

Do any of you guys keep track of the estimates that do not sell?
I keep a data base of all of them and send a mailing over winter with prices and all.
I usually have good luck with that.
I do the same for cancels.

I also keep track of estimates that were not accepted and send them a letter in the spring. I have had some success.

Every contact goes on the Newsletter mailing list.

I track everything so I know my return on spending and can track what is working and what is not.
It's the only way to intelligently make adjustments to your business.

    Pilgrim's Pride and Mo Green,

What do you put in such a mailing, and how do you use it to make the sale?
