How much did you spend on your first set up? Including your truck.
If your referring to everything needed to get a good healthy start in lawn care to include truck for my first start up. I'd say in the ball park of $10,000. I've always had several trucks all of which paid for. Majority of start up cost at least for me was mower because I don't skimp out of cheap stuff. Now I have all kinds of stuff. Lol.
My first setup cost me about 12k.
My first was about 6,000.
I have a new bobcat 48" walk behind I bought this year as a package to get a good deal. Will sell!
Sadly I did not have a very good set up:
Old John Deere Tractor
Boat Trailer w/tilt - converted it
Walmart weed whacker
20 Accounts 1st season
PB 500 backpack blower-$300
Used 6x12 trailer (great shape)-$800
Used Gravely Pro 1336 120ish hours-$1800
Green Touch Trimmer Rack 4 slot with support kit-$300ish
Shindaiwa t242 stick edger-$300
Thinking on spending 25k, 13k on truck and 12k on equipment. Do you think this is to much?
too much unless youve up a ton of work. 13 on a new mowing startup for a truck is alot. you can get a nice used 1500/2500 of any brand for under 10. imo its a waste to spend over 10 on first truck especially when you dont have a ton of work. Use the other money towards advertising and keep as much money for rainy days/future equipment purchases and repairs.
Our starting setup was under 5k. We already had a one ton dump but with the setup we had we could have used a ranger sized pickup or a 1500. Just remember the bigger the truck the larger the costs are to operate/maintain it.
36" walkbehind = 1200
10 year old pick em up truck = 4000
new kombi hand helds approx. (head 350 blower 100 weedeater 100 edger 100) = 650
push mower = 250
nice utility trailer = 1000
$7100 economy set up.
