I was running my machine (2006 Bobcat S250) the other day and the error code 02-17 appeared. This code means that the hydraulic charge filter is plugged. Is this the primary filter? How difficult is this and what considerations do I need to know?

it's not a big deal. It's under the cab against the engine compartment bulkhead. Easy to change.

How many hours do you have on the BC? Like Yellow said (Change every 500 hours) and you can check the inline hydraulic filter, Silver and cylinder shape. Just a little bigger than shotgun shell.. You can open them up and replace the brass filter inside or just buy the complete part..
