I haven't ever done flyers before ... did some post cards and such ... but was wondering if those of you who do, or have done, flers before ... do you print your own, or have them printed. In looking around at some prices for color printing (yes, color) ... I think I might be just as well off getting some paper and paying for the extra ink cartridges and doing them myself. This way ... when I want to do some ... I can just run off a hundred or two. This will also give me the ability to change up my flyer any time I want ... say if I want to change the wording a little to address a certain subdivision or something.

    What have you guys done

Here's my flyer for now .. and yes ... I did "steal" it off of a post here. Of course, I changed it up a little, and will continue to change it as needed (or to fit a specific situation or area)

Here is what I mean by changes ... note that I address a certain area .. and changed the "Starting at" price:

Well I started that other thread, and I can tell you that I had my printer run off 5000 of that flyer for 750 bucks, on glossy card stock, and they look a million times better than when printed on my inkjet printer. Much sharper, the colors stick out more, much more professional looking.

Absolute cheapest way to print in mass quantities that I have found yet.

Would cost you 4 times in ink to print as many as they can.

Print your self is not bad, I do all my own printing, it may be cheaper to order 5000 printed but I print each subdivision with different header which includes the subdivision name and printing thousands of the same I wouldent be able to

I started with inkjet printer, must have a inket printer that you could buy ink on ebay for about $2 a cartridge otherwise buying $20 cartridges will be too expensive

Just bought a color laser printer $600, that thing is so fast I can print about 1000 an hour, worth every penny, pages come out with the quality like a magazine. Still running on the included toner cartridges and a few thousand printed.

Just remember that you must distribute 100 flyers for a maximum of 4 enquiries. With this in mind you can now find out you printing costs and how many flyers you will need.

Good quality flyers will get more attention, the rest will go straight to the bin.

ALWAYS a printer. Printing them your self is insane. I get 20000 6X9's (largest I can mail with post) for around $1300 on gloss 12 or 14 pt double sided and sorted in to 100 pile stacks. Also no offence but I would also have your designer design you something, when you can get good deals on full color printing its a shame to have so much white space. I will post up some pics of our flyers if I can later.

Ive been printing about 300 pages for around $10 (online ink) on my hp inkjet, plus paper cost ( i get my free!) So 3000 cost me $100. Only difference is my quality is not gonna be as good as pro printing.
