I have recently been given a couple commercial contracts on sports fields. They are tall fescue with some rye grass (which has already died out this year), and I was wondering what you guys thought about overseeding it with a turf type blue grass and rye mixture when the spring rolls around? I will be dethatching, aerating, and topdressing the fields along with overseeding. Think that this would mix well and look good? Any and all advice for sports turf will be appreciated.

Is it one field, for 2 sports, that run the entire growing season? I would concern with compaction constant scuffing... One strategy I've heard of and like a lot is the aerating every couple of weeks, leveling and perpetual overseeding...

The seed doesn't have to be that much as the leveling process will get them into the holes where they're protected , yet no longer 2-3" deep when they germinate...

I think I would continue the AR applications, but add in multiple varieties that may help...
