My old scag 52 is about 16 years old. I cut about 12 lawns a week with it. I remotored it a couple of years ago with a twin 17hp kawi. I keep it perfectly maintained. However, I have less and less time for my part time mowing so I decided to buy a second mower. I bought a 2004 exmark 60 inch turf tracer hydro. Holy crap- I can't tell you how much better a hydro is. I would always read a post about hydro and think "how much better could it be". It is tremendous. The ultra cut deck cuts WAY better in damp grass. Even after 16 years of cutting, I have just relearned that this business is all about the equipment and customer service. I am glad I traded up and will from here on in, much sooner. My scag now makes an excellent back up machine for a guy cutting 12-14 .5 - .75 acre lawns a week solo.
