It's unclear to me how the proportional valve on the hopper works. Lets say I have the unit set to spread the width of the boom (8-10') at a rate 4# per 1k. Then to do trim I turn the impeller down to spread just the width of the machine (4-6'). Is it still putting down 4# per 1k?

yup, no your rate will change if you spread farther or lesser than what you have it at right now assuming it is calibrated, if you narrow or widen you pattern with the same hole you are applying the material over a different area which will change your app rate. make sense?? narrower will increase you rate per 1000 and wider will lessen it.

Anything similar to the third hole shut off on PG to cut the rate when using the deflector?
