Ford f450 transmission auto

    Do you have to drop the pan to change transmission fluid or is there a better way any help would be appreciated how often should the fluid be changed :hammerhead:

    What year is this truck? Is it the 4R100 (7.3 motor) or the 5R110W (6.0)? If its the 4R100 theres a drain plug IF its a 4WD truck, if not 4WD then yes the pan needs to be dropped just to drain. (yes this can be messy) Id drop the pan, clean it out well and change the filter anyway. Id also change it more regularly then not assuming its a F450 thats being worked. I do mine every 20ish because I tow a lot, well almost always when i drive my F350.
