Got these @ Ace Hardware : Vanco QuickTye Standoff. Model 20-06600-25. Lots of online stores carry them. 1.25" standoff with a 2" nail and ziptie.

    Gregg,
Do you use zinc nails for stainless screws on trees?

Frankly, I don't do much work in trees anymore, but I got these for a contractor friend whose crew i was supervising today while he's out of town.

I don't know that stainless would make much of a difference.

Had to troubleshoot some tree lighting. Live oaks were eating the cable that was attached with Romex staples in less than two years after the install. I've deen trees at cable before, but never this fast.

These standoffs are available with either screws or nails.
