Picked up an old 48" Scag from a friend which I used the motor to repower another mower. The Scags deck was splintered with cracks so I got the idea to swap the deck from my 32" Encore which had a bad transmission. So far everything is bolting right up and the motor from the 32" looks like it is going to line up with the Scag as well. Hopefully I'll have a nice little 32" hydro come tomorrow. Anybody ever do anything like this?

It looks like the wheels are wider than the deck.??

Yeah they stick out an inch and a half each side. Hopefully won't be to much of an issue. If it is the wheel/tire options are pretty slim to get it any narrower. Any ideas?

Walkers narrow wheels should work but will probably rut wet, soft conditions.

Before you buy the wheels why don't you try messing with the wheel motor brackets. I you make or have them made 2" shorter will do the trick might have to remove the brakes tho

I'd find a 36 " deck. Lord knows there must be a million dead belt drives out there, I have one myself.
