You can try going to www.cnet.com and click on downloads and see if there are any programs on there that may help you do what you are looking to do. They are free programs of all types on the site.

www.openoffice.org

OpenOffice is open source (free) software. It attempts to replace MS Office products. It has basically the same component parts as MS Office but a bit less polished. Definitely worth looking at if you are on a budget.

Air_Head, at least one of the components in OO will do what you want.
