    Hi all

A friend of mine's Gravely 1334 FX Belt drive fixed deck mower is in the shop again for a burned up clutch for the third time.

He has owned this mower for a couple of years bought new from dealer.
He told me the first two were under warrantee and this time its not.

I am not familiar with this mower (or any mower really).

He has 12 to 15 accounts and so the mower isnt used 5 days a week.

Anyone out there familiar with this problem? How long is the clutch supposed to last? Is there suppose to be sometype of regular maintianance on the clutch to prevent yearly failure that he might not be doing?

    Thanks in advance!

I have had my gravely 36" wb for 4 years now and the only problem I have had with it was some water got in the gas. I have mowed some really tall and thick grass and have not had any problems. I may have to replace one of the spindles soon but that is just from use. What he is mowing and other factors play a part in things breaking. The clutch should not be burning up like that. Have him call gravely direct and see what they say.
