Anybody try to get customers to sign up for this?will some customers take a small discount and let the backyard go to hell.understood if they have no lawn in back
Yrs ago I had a neighbor to a customer want that. I agreed since I was already in the spot for my other customer.
I would have charged $30 for the entire lawn(mow/trim/blow) but she said her son would mow the back and do the trimming. I agreed to $15 to cut the front yard.
After 2-3 months the son had not mowed or trimmed(I was truly shocked!!) And she wanted me to clean everything up. I priced it at $15x the number of times I had mowed the front yard, and I was now going to be doing the entire yard for $30. She thought about the math for a minute and realized I was charging every dollar I had missed out on but agreed to it and kept me working for a few yrs till she moved.
Under the absolutely proper circumstances I might do it again, but absolutely would not travel to a yard for anything less then the entire job.
Have several that are all pool/deck/hardscape in back. But with all the trees here there’s tree debris on the hard surfaces throughout the season so for mow/trim/blow hard surfaces weekly account contracts they get same price as everyone else on the street.
So I guess I'm wondering if it should be offered as a second option.most newer development gates round here only fit a 21 and it's a squeeze.if you offer front yard only at a rate a little lower than front/back but still higher than a split it would be much more profitable. Example 30$ front/back or 20$ front only.have seen people do this and don't know if its offered up front or asked by the customer. This strategy has been offered to several people I know so wondering how prevalent this strategy is.
Never heard of it. If its in your target area and you don't mind the extra billing and customer wrangling effort go for it.
For turf applications I have some large yards that only treat the lawn around the house. Same concept.
We do one of these. In a neighborhood we're we do a few others. We cut front yard only. Very small and square. $25. Takes maybe 10 minutes. Homeowner like cutting the back with his rider. His rider won't fit through gate for front yard.
I have one I cut 75% of the yard. He bags the small fenced in area. He likes doing yard work but has heart problems so is wife made him get someone to do most of the yard. I just priced it normally for the area I do.
I had one that was front and sides, my minimum is 40 no ifs ands or buts, but they wanted eow so it went up to 60, only blow off patio in back. She said ok, we also do 3 others in that culdesac so we are already there. We have a minimum and will not budge so they take it or leave it.
Yes we have a handful or two that want this. Been doing some for years and have never walked into the backyard. Have peeked through the fence and usually it's a horrible jungle or overgrown dog run. We don't do marketing for it. I have numerous lawn app customers where we only fert and squirt the front though. I love getting those.
I have one thats a small back yard only. Neighbor does the front yard for the lady but doesnt want to mess with the small gated back yard. Odd but easy job....
