Are there really any fuel savings between the two when diesel is usually .30 higher than gasoline?
There used to be when diesel was like $1.00 or more less per gallon. And the fact that diesel engines predominatly use less fuel per hour. Now the only good (and last) thing about diesels are their longevity. BTW, diesels are more expensive to repair too.
I'v had both in the last 14 years of doing this full time.
Good advice Rod,
Diesel is allot heaver too.
I went to all diesel trucks and would never use gas again. Much better fuel economy and run great all the time. Be sure to change oil regularly and they cant be beat
Rod, Rod, Rod................"Only good thing"?
Let's see - HIGH Torque - gas does not compare to diesel.
Durability - I don't see any gas-powered Peterbilts.
They hardly ever break internally.
Cant beat a diesel...
im gettin 16-19 mpg outta my cummins..
and they last forever
kohler horizontal v twin
blown head gasket
stator windings failedx1
ignition coils x2 failed
inlet manifold leaks vacumn twice
very small sump capacity causing hot oil in warm/hot conditions
most of the engine u cannot recondition
diahatsu non turbo 950 cc diesel
no problems to date
Take into account down time, cost of spares 4 gasers and the higher production/reliability of a diesel and it really is a easy choice
hello ,there are a few mowers with diesel that r equal to or lighter than the gasers .
true, but I don't see any diesel powered WB's either?
hello , at least in mowers an efi gaser compared to a 3cylinder diesel is about the same when comparing parts etc If u r paying to much 4 diesel parts 4 mowers u need to shop around .
The retailers do look at diesels as a money maker .
