I've never really used the gasketed and I've got a spec on my desk calling for the main to be 2" gasketed and the laterals to be solvent weld.

What is the advantage of gasketed PVC over solvent weld?

Gasketed has a little "wiggle room" to it. You have to use thrust blocks to keep it in place.
To me, the need for thrust blocks would be a pretty big disadvantage. Need to be more careful on trenching to have solid point to pour thrust block, etc.

How much wiggle room does it give? Just enough for thermal expansion/contraction? or significantly more than that?
