    Hey Everyone!

So I came across a website where you can make a FREE app for your business that is compatible with android, blackberry, Iphones, Ipads, and more. I thought it was too good to be true so I tried it and it is exactly as I stated, not only free, but very cool!

    The website is:

So why should a lawn care business have a mobile app?

With technology always evolving and tablets will soon be out-selling computers, it is important for every company to attempt to keep up with the times. A mobile app will alow your customers to contact you at anytime and more importantly, ANYWHERE! Will you get 100 app downloads a day for a lawn care business? I HIGHLY doubt it. Will you get a few loyal customers to give it a try, probably. Even if your customers don't have a smartphone but see you have an app, they will think that your customer service is excellent. Any attemps you take to improve customer service and communication will show potential customers that you truly care about them and their feedback. Plus it is FREE! Only your time is lost with creating it, not hundreds of dollars like what some businesses pay to have an app created for them.

Here is a link to where you can see the app I created for my business:

Here are some screenshots of my app:

Kirk, this is awesome! How many customers have you gotten to download the app so far? how long have you had it out there?

I have had the app for 3 days. The site shows that I have had 4 iphone downloads, 2 android downloads and 1 ipad download for a total of 7 downloads for 3 days. Some of those downloads could be lawnsite members though.

I didn't put it in the market or appstore. To get it, go to:
The website allows you to put it to the appstore and market, but both google and apple charge fees to add your app. The market is $25 and the appstore is $100. I figured it isn't worth the money to publish the app in the stores when you can download it for free from the link above.

This is such a cool find Kirk! And a great means of fringe promotion too.

I just watched the video documenting the process to get the App into the App Markets rather than just as a website as is the default (, and it's pretty involved, but for $100 it could be worth it. People love to search for Apps!

To answer your questions, I have not spent the money to publish my app in the stores yet and I don't think I plan to. In regards to promoting it, put a link to the download page on your site, they also provide a redirect code for mobile users that you can paste in your desktop site's coding.

As far as the That is a different service I deal with. That is my mobile site that I pay like $10/month. There is a difference between a mobile site and a mobile app, although it is subtle. Let me know if you come across any more questions.
